Public Health – Master’s Program

Master of Public Health (MPH)

A Master of Public Health (MPH) can offer the opportunity to build skills to lead, evaluate, and improve public health initiatives—without stepping away from the job you may already have. Whether you are a nurse, healthcare administrator, community health worker, or policy professional, earning your MPH offers the opportunity to build knowledge in epidemiology, biostatistics, health policy, and health equity, and to build the leadership skills needed to drive change in your community. Post University is proud to offer the MPH fully online through its SIMPath® competency-based model, built for working health professionals who need a program that meets them where they are.

The MPH program provides the learning opportunities to build knowledge across the core domains of public health practice—from epidemiology and biostatistics to health policy, environmental health, and the social determinants of health. Every student completes the same rigorous core curriculum, then chooses one of two specialty tracks—Epidemiology & Data Science or Health Policy & Management—to focus their remaining coursework on the career direction that fits their goals.

The Master of Public Health program is not currently eligible for Title IV federal funding.

Learning Experiences

During your coursework, you will have the opportunity to develop a deeper understanding of public health principles for:

  • Epidemiology & Biostatistics — applying quantitative methods to public health data
  • Health Policy & Management — examining the U.S. healthcare system and the policies that shape it
  • Health Equity — analyzing the social, environmental, and structural determinants of health disparities
  • Program Planning & Evaluation — designing, implementing, and assessing public health initiatives
  • Leadership — building the interprofessional and organizational leadership skills public health teams rely on
  • Applied Practice — completing 200+ supervised field hours and a capstone project in a public health setting

SIMPath®: Flexible Learning Designed Around Your Life

  • Flexible Online Courses
  • 16-week terms with monthly start dates
  • No required live class meetings or scheduled login times

Licensure and Program Disclosure

The MPH is not designed to fulfill state licensure requirements for a specific clinical profession. Some public health professionals pursue optional national certification—such as the Certified in Public Health (CPH) credential (https://www.nbphe.org/certified-in-public-health/) or the Certified Health Education Specialist (CHES®) credential (https://www.nchec.org/ches-exam) — to strengthen their qualifications. Requirements for certification vary, may include examinations or certain work experience, and are subject to change; Post University does not guarantee certification eligibility.
