Program Disclosures

The Bachelor of Science in Child Studies degree offers the opportunity to prepare to make an impact on the lives of children, birth through age 8, and their families as non-credentialed early childhood educators. However, this program is not designed to fulfill the educational requirements for any teaching credential or licensure, such as a state teacher’s license or an early childhood certification.

Post University assists in researching and providing information regarding licensure; however, each state has different requirements for such licensure outside of the required education. Such state requirements may include licensure exams, background checks, certain work experience, and more. It is ultimately the responsibility of each student to manage their own licensure process and to ensure that all requirements are met in order for the student to obtain licensure. Post University does not speak on behalf of any licensing board or body and does not guarantee licensure. Requirements for licensure are subject to change without notice.

“With preschool, early child children, love is essential. You have to come from a place where you are looking at the child as an individual. Every child is unique and special. Our bachelor’s in child studies is one of the first handful of bachelor’s programs within the country to be NAEYC accredited.”

– Marie Russell, Program Chair, Child Studies & Early Childhood Education
