Alcohol & Drug Counseling —
Certificate Program

Alcohol & Drug Counseling Certificate

The Alcohol and Drug Counseling Graduate Certificate seeks to prepare individuals to work with persons with alcohol and drug related addictions and co-occurring disorders utilizing  various theoretical approaches and interventions.

Our graduate certificate program offers the opportunity to:

  • Analyze and apply theoretical and conceptual theories of addiction
  • Examine processes associated with addiction and explore how addictions develop
  • Integrate a variety of models, theories, and research-based approaches to work with diverse cultural populations as well as co-occurring disorders

The Alcohol and Drug Counseling Graduate Certificate program offers the learning opportunities you could use to improve current counseling skills or build new ones. With coursework in areas that focus on the biology and psychopathology of addiction, you will explore what it takes to help addicted individuals and their families walk the long road to recovery. You could pursue this graduate certificate for personal or professional edification or use it to work towards completing requirements for an alcohol and drug counseling credential.
